proper valve lash?

What is the lash supposed to be set for the 91 l98 heads? I forgot if it is 1/2 or 3/4 lash. I prefer not to lash them with the engine running.

I forgot to add, the chilton book says once you have the valve at zero lash, to put 1 1/2 turns on teh rocker nut. That seems too tight!?

1.5 turns is too tight IMO...I use 3/4 turn past where you get drag on the pushrod.

I tightened it till the pushrod started dragging and then 3/4 turn and lock it there.

I miss read the chiltons book. It is 1 1/2 for the v6, the v8 is one full turn past zero lash. I have always gone 1/2 lash. I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the help!
