Arrow Question on weight loss in a 3rdgen LT1 swap?

I plan on pull ALL A/C equipment and emissions equipment. I will be putting in a set of SLP headers and y pipe with a high flow cat. I also will be changing to a T56. No back seats with sparco front seats, Grant GT steering wheel, no spare or jack, and pin on harwood hood. I figure on 200lbs of weight loss with the LT1 and all the lighter better quality parts I am replacing on the car. Does this sound about right? Anyone know normal weight for a 88 Camaro SC with a auto tranny, 305, and almost no options?

Cool Re: Question on weight loss in a 3rdgen LT1 swap?

If your trying to find out the weight of your car then just look at your car's title it should say it there

Re: Question on weight loss in a 3rdgen LT1 swap?

how does an lt1 shave off 200 lbs?

it is to my understanding that an ls1 block weighs 100 lbs less than a standard small block because its made of aluminum

Re: Question on weight loss in a 3rdgen LT1 swap?

With the addition of the lighter LT1, no A/C stuff, much lighter exhaust, no back seats and sparco fronts, lighter steering wheel, no spare or jack, and pin on fiberglass hood I figured 200 lbs was an easy acheivement. You think otherwise?

Re: Question on weight loss in a 3rdgen LT1 swap?

i think all of those may be over 200, your original statment sounded like u meant the lt1 alone was good for 200 lbs

all those items u mentioned sounds around 250 lbs to me

a/c alone is about 75lbs if you get every little piece including the evaporator.
