Post Question for you guys...

I am curious- I see guys have been putting LT1 cams into their motors.

My question is why?

There are WAY better cams out there than that one- and considering you have to do all that work, wouldn't you just want to install the cam that made the most power?

Can someone enlighten me??

Thanks!

Steve

I'd assume that some people do it for a slight HP increase along with emissions legality but i'm not really sure. I think a decent cam/lifter/spring kit would be like $200-300. I'd just go aftermaket myself

I've wondered that myself. I also would assume it's to remain smog legal. But obviously there's much better cams out there than the LT1.

True they are cheap but they are so close to an L98 cam that there is no point to doing it.

I WOULD RATHER PUSH A CAMARO THAN DRIVE AN IMPORT

1983Z28
Superramed roller 406 10.5 compression, AFR 195's and custom cam.

future mods:
N20 waiting to be installed

Wifes new car:

1995 Z28
AT, leather, T-tops bone stock for now. 250 RWHP 300 RWT 14.0 @ 99 MPH on a 2.2 60'

future mods:
header to tailpipe replacement and a cold air intake. Then I am just going to leave it alone (maybe)
