quick question...how many cca
I cant find in my owners manual how many cold cranking amps a 1990 5.7L would need to start. My battery is toast and im wondering if i could borrow the battery out of my moms 4.7L v8 dodge durango.
EDIT i checked and the ford windstar which is my backup car to drive has a battery that puts out 750 CCA which should be enough. Is there anything else i have to check to make sure itll be okay for my car.

come on this is a super simple question and i need an answer so i can take my baby out tonight. When picking a battery do i have to worry about anything other then how many cca's it has? if not 750 should be fine for my car.

by side mount do you just mean how the connectors attach? The battery is not side mount but i have the batter in the trunk and my connectors are the overhead style anyways so i think im cool.

As a general rule of thumb you need twice the CCA of your CID so gor a 350 you need 700 CCA. You can get by with less in a pinch though, I wouldn't worry about it to much.
On a side note I always buy the biggest battery I can physically fit into the space its going. I like 875 to 1000 CCA, which could be considered overkill, but you really can't have to much.
