My personal 0-60's on a calibrated accelerometer were consistantly 5.7's and 5.8's, where do you get 6.X's ?

aMeanTA, if you can't be fast I guess you can be furious, huh?

Heck, if all the Lt-1's ran like that, I'D be scared....
What is even scarier is that a few cheap simple mods to the TTA and it is running 12's.....

Then there is the 92 'Hawk..... now THAT is an L98!! (T-ram..... )

As it stands, the lt1 may be a little faster stock for stock, but the TPI L98 was (and still is, IMHO) the best looking engine/intake setup in the last 25 years... until the ever-so-powerful LS1 came along and put 'em all to shame!

I think that the LS1 engine itself looks like ****. Then again it does get the job done. (slight understatment)

Believe me, I agree with you.... the LS1 needs some serious help to make it in the looks department... the engine compartments are too compact, you cant see valve covers, cant see anything! Too many dang wires.. Thats part of the reason I kept the 'bird...

Then again, it doesn't really need to look good....

Alright here is my 2 cents the diff between the ls1 and lt1 is about 3-4 tenths the difference between a l98 and a lt1 is 3-4 tenths. Why complain over that thats can all befixed with like 500 dollars is performance parts. And after a while and heavy modding is done there all equal for the most part.

Another note...

Just to put in into perspective.
There is a guy on Thirdgen.org who has a 9 sec LB9, with a stock shortblock. (of course he has a supercharger, but still...)

All it takes is a little money and you are good to go with whatever GM gave ya.... except the Lg4 and Lo3..... throw those suckers away.

You can't beat technology. The newer the engine design the more efficient it is in making power. Things can only get better.
