really nasty idle

When my car sits for more then a few hours (and gets cold I assume) when i start it the tach revs up and down from 1k to 500, i have to hold the gas to keep it from stalling. At WOT it's perfect, and it drives fine 98% of the time (little breakup but nothing major) so all in all it drives fine

however it randomly idles very erratic, it will idle at 600 perfectly for 5 minutes, then out of nowhere rev from 500-800, then it will settle down again after you drive it a little

in the morning when i start it and the tach is going from 1k-500 if i FLOOR the gas the tach hardly moves, the car shakes like an earthquake, there is no power, and it takes like 10 seconds to get from 1500RPM to 2500RPM, after flooring it (or i normally start the car, and i just rev the engine in park until it stops, basically i floor the gas for 2 seconds , let the tach drop to 1k, floor it again for 2 seconds, and normally on the 3rd time it will rev like it normally does with no trouble, then it drives and idles PERFECTLY

if i start the car up 2 hours later it's perfect, however if i start it once, go to school, and 6 horus later start it again i have the same problem, so it must be from the cold?

im just worried, because when i floor the gas (even if i start the car, instantly shift into drive, and hit the gas, the car is shaking like your arms shake when you hit an iron pole with a baseball bat, it takes a while before the car will rev normally)

im taking the 305 out the summer, thats for sure, so im not interested in tearing her open, any ideas what it is? it drives, it just annoys the **** out of me, and it's really not cool when you leave your friends house at 5am, and you sit in front of their house at 5am reving your engine.....plus im worried how the car shakes, im flooring the gas, the tach is BARELY climbing, and the car shakes like a ****, then finally the RPMS go up normal and it drives/idles fine

i just dont' want to screw up my tranny or something else from reving in park so much, plus the way my car shakes can't be good

i put a 93' vette lt1 cam in, TPI, stock cept for the cam, is there too much lift? is it the timing?
