Rear offset

I tore my rear end up a while back and I found someone that's willing to sell me a 3.42 rear out of a 96 Z28 that has a much stronger Posi than mine did before I broke it....The question is I know it's 2 inches wider then mine....Will this make the offset on my car equal front to back or more different then before??? If it makes it the same front to back I want to put some of those five spoke SS wheels on it from the mid-nineties....Any help would be appretiated.

Thanks, Amn Collin Hundley

The 4th gen rear will push your 3rd gen wheels out about 2" from where they are now. You can bolt up some 4th gen wheels on the new rear but to get the 4th gen wheels on the front you will have to use spacers.

Good sources for the spacers are...

www.skulte.com
www.vettebrakes.com

You can expect to pay about $150 for a set of two.
