Replacing all my lights with blue ones

I want all of my amber lights to be white or blue. Where can I get them for cheap? Its a 1989 firebird. Also, I want to put really bright reverse lights in. What do I have to do? Just pop new bulbs in or do I need to rewire anything? Thanks.

Shouldn't this be posted over at www.hondariceboy.com ?

Go to Pep Boys or whatever you local auto accessory store is. They should have what you need. If you want brighter lights you have a couple of options:

1. Put it high intensity bulbs in. I don't recommend this as I have seen numerous melted wiring harnesses.

2. Run the factory wiring into a relay, and run the reverse lights on the other side of the relay that is hot wired directly to the strongest power source - like the battery terminal or alternator. The extra .5 - 1V will brighten the light a good bit.

Can't help you on the lenses though. They aren't many options for our cars.

Some lenses are just an amber film which I wish was in our case. That would make this much easier. Thanks for the help. I guess I will just get an aluminum wing with the money I have. Just kidding.

Have fun getting all the tickets, blue lights and red lights are illegal on all passenger vehicles.

Down here it seems like green is the common fad now. I dont see why people want to use those colors, but i guess it can work if it accents the color of the body.

Blue and red lights are illegal? What about those hyper white that appear to be blue headlights and red taillights? I am not putting flashing lights or anything. Blue adn red are illegal if forward facing. And when did I mention having red lights? I want to change my amber turn signals to white, a very legal mod.

That's right. Blue lights are illegal ANYWHERE on a non-emergency vehicle. Red lights are only allowed in the rear. Turn signals and parking lights are supposed to be amber. Some places you can get by with clear lights (my front parking lights are), and some places you cannot.

Overly bright headlights can get you in trouble with some cops in a bad mood, especially if not OE.
