rough idle after adjusting timing!

rough idle after adjusting timing!

i just advanced my timing from 6* to 10* and now my car idles pretty rough and my heater dosen't work would this be because of what i did to my timing!

The idle, probably, the heater, no. I have never seen the need to bump the timing up more than what is recommended. Just makes detonation and other problems creep up.
