Scoggin Dickey Vortec crate TPI project

A few months ago I began a project that was supposed to be done around Christmas 2005. I posted a title similar to the title of this one. A buddy of mine has a shop. Well, we ran into some local county problems at his shop (boat sales) and had to postpone the project. He had license to sell, not repair. Also I had run out of money for some other mods that really needed to be done to take the horsepower increase of a T-Top car. So, the project is now back on and I have added all the parts purchased in my signature. I can now finally be excited about my car which I have only seen once in the last 5 months. I was fortunate enough that I did not need credit cards to buy all this. Just worked some OT at my job and got $4k from my home refinance. My wife fell for it. She gave up a hot tub so I could get my engine. She reminds me every now and then.
Well, the final figures are in. I finally added up all the cost of just parts I have bought for my car in the last 6 months. It includes everything like steering wheel, tires, misc. little stuff all the way to the crate engine. I'm a little amazed that I have spent $10,071. I only paid $2,500 for the car so I'm not going to get sick or anything. WOW!!!! I still gotta pay my buddy to install everything. Which he said a couple days ago would run $1,500 on the low side to $3,000 if we hit problems and need little misc. things. It's not just installing the motor. It's installing almost everything in sig. I'll keep you all posted on the progress of this once again exciting project. If you know what I might run into due to experience give me a heads up. I'm just a beginner that's going to help a little.

When you swap a engine into these cars the cost of the engine is the small cost item. You get nickeled & dimed to death on everything. Until you look at the total and say what I am I doing. Been their and done it.

I'm expecting stuff like engine and trans. mounts and maybe some bolts, belts or hoses. I might have the shop use ARP Header bolts. I have a feeling it may be worth the money. I did buy the blue Goodyear hose kit already. LINK to my engine : http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/1578...rip-Engine.htm All the motor specs are in their catalog!!
