Post Shifter "hop"

I test drove a 5 speed 1986 Z28 tonight, and I am very interested in purchasing it, however I noticed a very strange problem. While riding in first gear, up until when i shift into second, the shifter itself is bobbing up and down. when i swtitch to second or higher, it pet muc goes away, but it is stil there. I'm only 16, but I know how to drive a stick comptently, so it's not like I don't know how to let the clutch out resulting in the whole car shaking/stalling or anything. any help isgreatly appreciated.

Don't settle for the AutoZone crap I went through that. If you remove the factory piece and compare the AutoZone piece looks like it was made for a 4 banger. Even the 305 especially the 5 speed cars will rip this pos out in no time. My 350 A4 made short work of one in about 2 weeks. If you want to stay with a rubber mount buy from GM or go with a polyurethane piece which is good but will transfer driveline vibrations but it is a high perf. part so expect it.

You can get a polly trans mount for 15-20 bucks. You will have a hard time braking it. I have had one for about 2 years now and havnt broken mine yet
