anyways thanx for the replies
Ya, I did put the TPI on my LG4 and it ran a 14.1@99mph. I had put full exhaust and a cam in there as well.

The only mods my LG4 had were an Edelbrock intake, carb, and air cleaner.

to the original topic i was thinking and was wondering if he had mentioned if his lt1 combo was tuned. because some people think they can cam the hell out of stuff and not pc tune it.that robs a ton of hp.

Re: should i have called BS on this LT1 swap?

I did have the LT4 conversion, but I sold it a year and a half ago when I accidentally put my brothers 96 T/A into a guard rail at 70mph.

This is a more recent shot of the motor,

Throttle cable is from Lokar, headers are Heddman Longtubes.

If I use the brackets and hub that I have then it probably won't be a problem since the bracket will sit .5" from the block and head with small spacers.
I may get an alternator relocation kit to mount it lower since that may be the only accessory that I will run, still debating on power or manual steering.

here is what the spacers look like,

Re: should i have called BS on this LT1 swap?

I figured that aluminum engines were beasts.. why else would the new BEASTLY Camaro/Trans Am's use them? Reason I was asking was cuz my g/f's stupid ricer-bro doesn't ever get on his moms truck "because it has an aluminum engine, and i dont want to warp it/over heat it".. I thought to myself; ya, the new Camaro's have all aluminum shiz and they never overheat.. why the fock would your truck overheat? lol

It's more of a what If i think. Yes, they are harder to overheat, but once you overheat an aluminum head its usually shot, whereas a steel/iron head can last through an overheat or two or more before warping.

Interesting. what was the reason for using the spacers and what did you do for the hub? I would assume you just spaced the actual balancer off the hub itself?

I am using a B-Body hub with an F-body accessory bracket.
Last time when I put the accessories on, I had my b-body bracket at a friends house getting powder coated and I used the f-body bracket and the belt wouldn't align to the hub so I grabbed those spacers (don't know where they came from) and put them between the bracket and block and the belt lined up.

Oh, and about the aluminum LS1 motor, people that want tons of power from them usually go with the Iron 6.0 Liter truck motor.

Oh ok. I wasn't aware there was a difference between the accessory brackets and hubs
