Stainless Steel Roller Rockers

I was warned away from aluminum roller rockers for street use, so instead of getting Crane Gold Race aluminum rockers I went with Comp Hi-Tech Stainless (part #1103-16) 1.65rr. WAY pricey at 407$ from summit, and they have been on backorder for a while now. Are they worth the extra bucks? I'll be turning 6500-6600 rpms so I figured paying a little bit for some peace of mind was worth it. I know the Pro-Magnums (1300 series) are extremely popular but I can't really find any reviews on the Hi-Tech Stainless Steel (1100 series) rocker arms.

I'll start off. Well they won't hurt and you won't have to worry about rocker arms again. You did not list your cam specs and your setup so it is harder to reply. You will also need quality valve springs and stiff pushrods.

Cam will be the 280XFI (230/236 .594/.588 113 LSA). Springs are Comp 918s with titanium retainers, and I do plan on getting hardened pushrods as soon as I know what length to get.

Re: Stainless Steel Roller Rockers

I would say your are good to go and not look back. I'm in the process of building up another engine for my car and I have the 218XFI. I bought the 1.6 Pro Magnum rockers and the 918 springs. Like you I'm waiting on the motor assembly before I order the pusrods. Looking at the Mantons myself. If I had to do it over again I would seriously consider the rocker arms you bought for the last little bit of HP.

I compared the Pro-Magnums at 245$ to the 407$ for the Hi-Techs and figured they have to cost that much for some reason. Not the smartest way to make a decision, but I figured if everyone thinks the Pro-Magnums are so good then these would have to be the end-all-be-all stud mounted rocker arm. Anything that helps my valvetrain rev to 6600 reliably is worth it.

Re: Stainless Steel Roller Rockers

Well from what I've now heard they are made to be indestructable for racing purposes.
