Starter is Dead
My starter just died in my driveway, tried to turn her over and i just hear a clicking whirl noise, sounds real unhealthy... funny i hadnt picked up on any sigs of it before. I know nothing about starters, how i would go about changing one, i have a junker 86 firebird in my yard i could yank it out of, should be compatible right? i have a 305 87 camaro auto... thanks for ur help guys.

The clivking whirl noise is the started not engaging.....It is fairly simple to change the starter. The hardest part is getting the new one up past our exhaust. Sometimes you have to unbolt your exhaust and drop it down to get it in there.
