Stock L98 numbers
#31
My car ran 14.3 with 60K miles on the motor, 120K on the car, rebuilt tranny, and 2.77 stock gears. Nothing, even paper filters, the car was totally stock. Pinging and not tuned at all. I must admit, I was surprised

Thats the thing, if the car has been taken care of then it wont fall off...take my ride for example (G92 LB9)...when i bough it it had 56,000 on it..i bought it fomr my uncle who drove it from MI to CA many times..(all except 7-10,000 miles)...when i got it i put another 20,000 hiway miles before i took it to the track...the only modes the card had was a K&N and a ram clutch..trapped 94 first time out...honed my launching skills and was cutting hi 1.9's on a good set of street tires (not DR's)...bought a flowmaster and ground down the EGR walls and it trapped almost 97...
best the car ran was a 14.12@96.87....91 porker, i mean GTA LB9 5 speed 3.42 gears...(1 of 164 G92 5speeds in 91)....i never weighed the car. but its a full optioned t-top car...id slightly pull LT1's to about 70, then id loose probly 2-3 tenths after half track
if the car has been beaten, i mean like more time on the floor then not then its not gonna run fast..but if its taken care of (hiway crusiing) then itll run as fast as it would off the showroom floor

Idle, Mileage, Throttle Response, you name it. My car was idling very inconsistently months back. I had done a full tune-up after I bought the car and changed various ignition parts and so on, but never messed with the TPS or IAC. I calibrated the TPS just about a month ago or so and immediately could feel the car pull harder, much less hesistation, still pinged, but thats due to the ****ty fuel in cali and some other issues. But what a difference. Nice smooth idle.
If anyone has ever had the throttle body off the car or turned those torx bolts even a c-hair, it will go out of adjustment. Mine was way off. Do a search on thirdgen.org, and you will find all you need to know about this adjustment. Take your time, as you don't wanna do it 4 times like I did.
