subframe connectors question?
Hi guys! (and gals)
I've been visiting and reading this site for awhile now, but I've never posted here... I have an 82 Z28 with t-tops, and like so many other older 3rd gens, it's got a pretty nasty case of rattling, squeaking, etc. and you really have to slam the doors to get them to close all the way. From what it seems like, this would be my relatively old subframes starting to flex, right? If I were to put a set of subframe connectors on there, would this solve the flexing problem, or are the subframe connectors something that should be put on before the subframe loosens up? Does this flexing have any other side affects, or does if affect the safety of the car? There is no rust on the car, even on the underbody, but it is 22 yrs. old now...
Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks to those who respond.

The subframe connectors will help out quite a bit. It's not the subframes that flex, it's the body between them. Get a good set of weld in frame connectors and it should help with those rattles and squeaks. As far as the doors go, they have probably sagged a bit over the years, a body shop should be able to realign them and install new striker bolts to help your doors close easier.
