Question Synthetic or MaxLife oil

Ok Im gona do an oil change, but the car has extreamly high miles on it (185,XXX)
would I be safe going with a synthetic oil(with such high miles Im afraid the synthetic will be to thin and I'll end up with 101 oil leaks, wile the car seems to have none now) or should I go with a good quality dino oil like Valvoline MaxLife?

I have been using Maslife in my 97 Tahoe with 137,XXX on it and I am extremly satisfied.. No leaks, good start up and great pressure all the time.. with a old motor make sure you go up to 10w30 for longer bearing life..

I used synthetic on my 89 Formula 350 when it had about 80k on it, and it started to smoke on startup and use oil. After the next oil change back to conventional oil, smoking stopped, oil use normal.

I posted that here a while back and somebody with an 87 vette said he had no problem. But I don't think the smoking and oil use I experienced with synthetic was just a coincidence.

I used Royal Purple in my old Chevy Blazer from about 100,000 on up to about 154,000 miles and I never had a problem. I want to say it ran a little smoother also but that may have just been in my head.

well I was out so I got the stuff for the oil change b4 I had a chance to read this post.
I decided to try Mobil 1 synthetic(10w-30), Ive herd good things about it so hopefully all will go well. I also got a bottle of Marvel Mystry oil to add to the case, which Ive also herd lots of good things about.
so now I guess I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best tomarrow after I get the oil changed.

Mobil 1 should work just fine. I use it and have had no problems to this day.

My 305 has about 120k on it, and I run Mobil1 5-30 synthetic. Runs fine, good pressure, no leaks at all, no smoke at all, burns about a quart or so between changes.
