T-5 tranny swap, igor look in here plz
the reason i asked for igor is i need some parts and i saw in another tread that he has lots of leftovers, NEEDED, v-8 bell housing, and flywheel, possibly an input shaft.
also what it a decent price (for parts above),
now for questions:
1. will I have to change starters?
(the car receiving this trans is in signature)
2. how hard is it to change the input shaft on a t-5 ? (donor car had a 4 cyl, so i have 14 splineshaft as opposed to whatever the v-8 has i hear its different)
3. if i can't change input shafts, can i get away with the 4 cyl disc, and just use a v-8 pressure plate?
4. Lastly, is there a way to get the damm torque arm mounted somewhere other than the trans? with out buying an aftermarket one? (if anyone knows pics would be great) i feel that the torque arm is the main reason the f-bodies kill t-5's so easily, to much stress on the casing.
the donor car as mentioned above had a 4 cylinder, and is an 84, as is the recieving car(not that it matters)
sorry for the length, and i thank you if you have read this far, i am not really worried about breaking the t-5, so don't tell me how weak it is, the car is meant for me to have fun with and i personally love to shift gears,
