Question Which T56 to use?

I have a T56 tore down that needs a front plate. I could make it a 93-97 trans or a 98-02 trans depending on plate I use. Anyone have any info on what is better? I like the 98-02 because no external slave cylinder. I also need the bellhousing so I could go either way with this.

If you wanna put it in a 3rd gen it needs to be the LT1 style front cover, bellhousing, and input shaft. AFAIK the LS1 style only fits an LS1 engine.

And that input shaft mounted slave is a pain to change when it starts leaking. You have to drop the tranny.

Anybody else used a LS1 style T56? I'd rather have that clutch and slave cylinder setup. Somebody else said that there needs to be 2 inches cut out of the trans tunnel. Is that right?

The only people using Ls-1 T56s are also using the LS-1. The lt-1 t56 is the only t56 you should use. And the trans tunnel does need to be cut back which took me about 10 mintutes with a the dewalt.
