Question

dont know why youd want to raise the rearend up, but what ever. when you lower the front end, some of the weight will come off the rearend and it will raise a little on its own. other then that airshocks will do the trick. but they suck as far as ride quality goes. and they are terrible for racing.

yeah, but it's a necessity if you want to fit the 28" Futuras on the 14" cragers.

Well, on mine I had a problem with the rear tire rubbing, so I had to put in some heavy duty cargo shocks, and that raised it up about an inch for me. Unfortunately, if there's anyone else in the car and I hit a bump pretty fast (around freeway speeds) it will still rub. Scares the crap out of me when I'm not expecting it

Use Air Lift air bags in the rear springs. Not only can you raise the car with them, you can put a little more air in the one on the right to make the car hook better. I've put many of them in 3rd gens with 5 lb in the left and 18 lb in the right. It will counter act the car torquing over to the right when it launches.

I currently have a single one in the right rear of my car with 18 lb in it.

yeah I am wanting to get a little bit better launch so airshocks are out of the question. Umm how much are airbags? Are they hard to install. I am just a broke *** teenager doing it all himself.

airbags are cheap. I think summit sells a kit for $60. Installation should be a piece of cake. Just let the rear end hang and you can pull the springs out, put the bags into the springs, then put the springs back. Absolute worse-case scenario is that you've got to unbolt the shocks to let the rear hang a little more, and if your car sees any winters, you'll break those shock bolts.

Does anyone know if Cargo Coils will raise it up? Since it is designed for carying cargo, perhaps it would not have as much give initially with the car and a light load? Just a theory and wanted to know if anyone had the experence.

When I posted I meant to say that I had cargo coils in my car, not shocks. So yes, I have used them and they did lift the rear about an inch.

I don't think so. Cargo coils are, if I am not mistaken, lenear rate springs whereas stock springs are vairable. I know someone who towed a boat with his Mustang and made high 10s or low 11s with cargo coils.

Yah, it may sound weird, but I think it almost IMPROVED my take-off. Or that could have been from the bigger tires, who knows I got mine from BIG-O tires, and it cost me around 200, and that was installed.
