timing cause stalling??

i advanced my timing to 10* 2 days ago and yesterday my car stalls out of nowhere. it usually happens if im cruisng around at low throttle. recently i replaced the fuel filter, plugs, and wires. could timing be a problem with an engine with 81K miles? any suggestion helpful, thanks!

1. Did you do it with the advance wire off?

2. Why 10 deg? I am very sure the timing specs are 6 deg.

Set it back to 6 deg and see if it does it.

yes the wire was unplugged when i checked it, and yes you are correct the spec is 6* but i bumped it up to 10* for improved performance. after the advance the car runs great on the highway but it doesnt have any power until 200-2500 rpm. im going to back it down to 6* and see what happens.
