tires, what will fit using 17" wheels
Ok i decided i'm going with 17x9" wheels. Now on the back of my car i HAVE to have a 275/40x17, i absolutely love the aggressive stance it gives the car, but my question is about the front, would i be able to run the same size tire up there without interference or will i be better off running a 245/45x17 up there, i'm afraid if i run a 275 on the front when i turn it will rub and i dont want that. So what will fit and look right?? As long as the back has 275's i dont care what goes up front as long as the profile is proportional.

if you already have 245 and they dont rub id have to say then if you go up to 255 they will cause i know of some people that come to my store with 225/55/16 and they rub only due to the higher side wall. sticking with a 245 in front might be better also just for handling once you start going higher and have some grippy tires your car starts to want to just drive as straight as possible and you can feel it gripping bumps and stuff in the road more.

Ok cool, now if i do a 1.5" drop to the car how will this selection impact me, or will it? I'm assuming 275's will fit on the rear with no problem, however again on the front will it gimme a hard time? And also is the 245/45x17 tire correct for the front, again i dont want the profile of the front to be different than the rear.

275s work without a problem...I have them on my car.
Mike...I haven't gotten the mail yet today since I'm still at work, but I have a feeling your check will have arrived today.
I've got a deal on some stuff for you that from your recent posts...you'll be interested in. I'll e-mail you later on tonight with information...cool?
It's regarding wheels... Hopefully I have an e-mail address for you that isn't a work related one where you couldn't check it.

Dropping the front may cause rubbing. I'd recommend using Drop Spindles on the front and springs in the back.
My 275/40/17 rubbed a lot in the front. I was running Jamex Lowering springs at the time, about 1.5-2" drop.
My buddy with an 82 T/A just bought the SLP Firehawk 17x9.5's with 275/40 all around and he has no rubbing issues. His car is at stock height.
