MAN! I would keep that RS...
Just because its new doesnt make it better.. Everything ages.
And that RS sounds sweet. Plus you'll save yourself some cash by sticking with what you love. And you will miss the car once you have sold it. And after a few months you'll realise that the 2002 isnt all that special and you'll regret the situation, and go into depression and end up on Losec and have therapy 3 nites a week, and you'll wake up in the middle of the nite in a pool of sweat...

The new ones are sweet, they are amazing cars. In my opinion they are the best Camaros ever built, and they are certainly the fastest. My 82 has been in the family since new, so there was no chance of getting rid of it! I have a 72 Truck that I drive to work, and I keep the 2002 for special occasions mainly. I have started a restoration on the 82, hope to have it real nice next year.
So my opinion? Are you trading in the RS? What are they giving you for it? Like 2K? 2K on a 60 month loan only changes it like $50 a month, so if it is paid for just keep it and buy the 2002 outright. If you worked a trade in already you will get them to take more $$$ off the Z-28 without the trade in. My Z-28 stickered at 28,500. I got it for $24,500 with a 2k rebate. At 4.9% I am paying 517/month.
Whatever you decide you wont go wrong, you'll have a sweet car either way!

gotta have dedication to the 3rd gen man....i put alot of thought into just abusing my iroc and then gettin rid of her after college for an LS1 SS, but i decided im gonna do an engine swap and restore her instead....i mean honestly, the LS1's are sweet, but when you are driving down the street, what impresses you more, a 2002 SS or a 67 fully restored Camaro SS/RS?

stick with the 3rd gen. u got a lotta HP in that puppy and thats gonna take a lotta $$ to get that from the LS1(and judgin by the payments unless ur loaded ur not gonna have much to spair)
just get the 3rd gen lookin good.
