Re: tpi mystery canted valve heads?
im even starting to think it might be cheaper if i buy a totalled out ls1 camaro and convert it over. it wouldnt hurt to much to start over since that is how i got this motor that i have now. i only ended up paying $35.00 for motor, trans, disc rear end, and wiring after all was said and done. plus i might enjoy parting another camaro out.

plus i dont know why anyone would buy a different intake when the bolt holes line up perfecly and the only difference is the angle. all anyone would have to do is bend a few bolts with no head at the right angle and they will hold down the intake like they were meant to.

As for the rockers, you need self-aligning rockers. You can use regular rockers, but you will need to pull the pressed in rocker studs and machine the heads to accept screw in studs and guideplates.

lol ok! i think the best thing i can do is just put the tpi back together with some new aluminum heads and a tpi intake from FIRST. that thing is so massive that i dont think i'll have too much of an issue at high rpm like the origional restrictive tpi manifold. i'll have to get some literature on how to check engine specs and find out what is beneath the heads that are already on it. on the upside i should be able to get some cash for the intake and heads that i currently have.
