transmission problem

i have an 88 iroc-z and i had my emergency brake on not realizing and i had it in reverse and went to back up then it jumped and my service light went on, now it stays on and i notice when my revs are at about 1500 and i let go of the gas it all of a sudden slows down a bit and my idles drop down to about 800, for example i was going down the highway at about 80 km/h and i let off the throttle and it would almost jerk a bit and slow down a bit, its weird, im confused because i dont see how something so small could affect my car like this, but i hope and assume that it has nothing to do with my transmission going because of the fact that the service light is on.
any help would be very appreciated

It does sound like the input/overrun sprag is going away. If it is, the transmission will need to come apart for this at a minimum.

problem solved

turns out it was just something simple and it was just coincidence when it happened i guess, but it was just the little sensor connected to the air snorkel just underneath the rubber tube, its happened before but i never realized that it caused it to shift unpropperly. give it a try maybe its your problem too.

it actually popped out , it seems to do it quite often im not sure why but it does, espechially when i lift up my snorkel to look at my air filters or whatever it always pops out then, is it not supposed to do this?
