Red face two questions....

k...can someone give me an estimate on how much an LT1 engine would cost? Saving up and I should be able to purchase something by the summer. Also I did a 1/4 mile the other night and got myself a 15.3 @ 89 and my camaro currently is a 305 tpi 89. My friend said I could get a better time if I know how to start off right and I'm asking you guys, the genius guys...how does one start off quickly? whats the trick?

why?

the standard psi in the rear tires especially is 33-34....i forget. explain why is it that I wanna lower my tires psi to 26 that's awfully low and I'm not seeing how it would get me off the line any quicker than if I had the standard psi needed in the tires.

First off, do you have an auto or manual???

Second, lowering your tire pressure makes your tires soft, flexible and gripier (if thats a word).

Hope that helps.

Lowering the pressure in your tires does help with traction to a point, but also increases wear.

Is your '89 stock? If so that's not a bad time at all.

Auto or manual?
