URGENT: Help to Select the RIGHT CAMSHAFT
Car specs:
L98 5.7L V8 350 TPI, STOCK CHIP, 1.5 factory rockers, new valve springs, 700r4 trans with shift kit, 3:23 gears, MUST PASS AIR CARE. I would like the BEST REAL "CAM" sound..
It's between 3 now:
LT4 Hot Cam:
Cam Style Hydraulic Roller
Operating Range 1,800-5,800 RPM

Note they put "Modified Computer"... That part worries me..
Which one of these will have the most lope to it? More "CAM" sounding?

your going to have to modify the computer for ANY aftermarket cam, and if you don't the difference wouldn't be worth it.
what your asking for is basically impossible, the more of that "Real Cam Sound" you get the harder it's going to be to pass emissions, and the more low end power you will lose. the TPI intake makes all of it's power down low and chokes off up top, making any cam that will give that "real cam sound" run like crap.
if you were to go get an HSR or converted LT1 intake then we could talk about Real Cams, but the computer would still have to be changed.
out of all that you list the "300" looks the best, but the fact that you listed it with 1.7 rockers worries me, is it a typo?
