Well, I got bored so I decided to tell you all what is happening with this thing. After a collapsed lifter, two flywheels, two starters, lots of RTV, and two noise violations, the beast is running.

Had some issues with starters grinding the crap out of the flywheel, but that is fixed now. To add to the above post, the heads were ported, there's a Edelbrock 650 on top. It has TRW flat top pistons, somewhere around 10:1 compression, and 1.52 rockers.

I have yet to ride or drive it, because I'm at college, and the cars/cousin is not. But, after less than 600 miles or driving, the 700-r blew up today (#2 for this car). He says that with a sticky tire, he thinks it'll pull the front tire. I really cant wait to see what it runs.

I had my heads cut to a certain cc to get the compression at 10.8:1 done by AFR. They will tell you what cc to run and how much to cut

Not true. In this case the carb is a mod so you need to compare apples to apples. The best carb you can get and the best intake you can get are going to be about equal. The carb needs to get air and fuel in the cylinders which give it power. The car is dumb and doesn't care as long as it gets the mixture. A good carb to a stock TPI and you might be right. A good carb to a good TPI setup and you might not be right.

No he is right, even modified TPI blows *** compared to even a decent carb setup. Look at the 350HO, and then look at how much power it is down with the TPI setup. Even with aftermarket runners it still chokes the motor down a great deal.

OK, let me clarify my statement. TPI in the stock pieces and modified form is not as good a ssay a Superram setup or a Miniram setup. Fuel injected or carb still is dependent on the engine to make power. The best EFI setup is probably comparable to the best carb setup.

I didnt bring up the old thread to start a war here guys. But, I remember in Hot Rod or CC, they did a test with a fuel injection setup and a carb, the power results varied by about 2hp. TPI is restrictive, but there are aftermarket options, just like carbs and carb intakes.
