What Kind Of Spark Plugs?
#2
I swear by plain old Autolite copper plugs. $1.29 each at the local parts store. No, they won't last a billion miles but 30,000 in a stock motor is not problem and I've never had one fail or exhibit "weird" behavior like I have with platium plugs from time to time.
My personal favorite for a stock cast iron-headed SBC is the Autolite #24. It's a heat range or so colder than stock, which is good on a performance-oriented motor AND they are a semi-shorty design that clears just about any header or exhaust manifold I have ever used them with. The hex-head also sits out a good distance so if you have a header tube that you can't get a socket past you can just use a 12-point or open end wrench to tighten/loosen it easily without busting a knuckle. They're designed for a gap of approximately .045" which is about perfect for a factory electronic HEI-style ignition on a N/A motor (small or large cap distributor).
