when changing ops
when changing my oil pressure switch. what should i keep in mind. should i use black silicone on the threads. how tight are they in there do they often snap. should i buy that special socket or just use channel locks

I prefer teflon (tape or liquid), but any sealer is ok. Threads are NPT; they taper so as you screw them in, they seal on the threads. So a huge amount of torque is not needed. Say 15 ft #'s. The socket is convenient, but I've used channel locks and adjustable wrenches in a pinch.
