when changing ops

when changing my oil pressure switch. what should i keep in mind. should i use black silicone on the threads. how tight are they in there do they often snap. should i buy that special socket or just use channel locks

I prefer teflon (tape or liquid), but any sealer is ok. Threads are NPT; they taper so as you screw them in, they seal on the threads. So a huge amount of torque is not needed. Say 15 ft #'s. The socket is convenient, but I've used channel locks and adjustable wrenches in a pinch.

angle how bout valve cover gaskets on a tpi motor . hard or easy just the top hex bolts do i need to scrpae the factory gaskets off the head with a razor should i use black silicone there to whats the deal i have to replace the ops and valve cover gaskets because im leaking a slight amoutn of oil enough to want to make me change it
