Who has the fastest 305TPI?

Im just wondering who's got the fastest 305TPI on this board. And what mods do you have?

My best is a 14.9 @89mph at HRP(Houston Raceway Park)
Flowmasters 40 series muffler
K&N Filters
I think that's really good times for just those mods.
I know mines not the fastest, but who is?

I have seen a 9 Second TPI!

It was a 305 with Ported tpi, acell base and SLP runners

Note this guy was running a turbo too.! Midsized t4 it looked like a t68 but turbos are really desiveing just buy looking at them.

Trick flow heads.

to run nines in a thirdgen you need at least 680 HP!

I saw it run too. It had its tires off the ground on a launch.

You need to qualify this question. Do you care that it's street legal? Driven daily? Emissions legal? Or a trailered, race only car? Heck, I've seen 6-second third gen drag cars for that matter.... just saw a white one on PHRTV....

I honestly doubt those 6 second cars were 305's or TPI's. Im just asking about the fastest 305TPI period. I dont care if it's trailered, daily driven or what. Im just curuios how fast someone has gone in a 305TPI.

You wanted him to be one of those guys who asks.."Who has the fastest 305TPI Camaro, Red, With a 3 speed trans, curb feelers, and tail light covers?", right? I'm glad it was a general question for once! Most of the people here can reply which is nice.

Im not the only one who has ran times like that w/ only those mods. I live at sea level, I dont konw where you live, but that could be an issue. You need to check everything and make sure everythings working properly.

That sounds like Preston Smith that you're talking about. His car is a "305" only in the very basic nature of the displacement. It's a large bore, short stroke small block that happens to work out to 305 cubic inches. It has nothing in common with a typical 305 except the final displacement. Because it's a large bore/short stroke motor, it isn't subject to the same sort of limitations that a typical 305 would have.

My guess is that Willie's 305 is the fastest stock-bore/stroke emissions-legal 305 that you'll ever come across.

I know how you can have the fastest TPI 305 for FREE!

Take a TPI 305 3rd gen, drive it off a cliff, your car hits terminal velocity. BAM fastest TPI 305 ever.

I was thinking the same thing... my g/f's 03 Grand Am GT runs 15.8 @ 87 with just a K&N filter. Something must be wrong.
