Why are center-bolt valve covers so expensive?
Why? Why are they so expensive? Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Where can I get them for cheap? Anybody know how much OEM covers are?

Who do you think they sell more to? Centerbolt people or Perimeter bolt people? Pretty much every company that makes valve covers has them for Perimeter bolt ones but not everyone has Centerbolt ones.

Yea but now you can buy a kit that switches your Centerbolt valve covers over to perimeter ones.
Summit racing has them

The only problem with the adapters is that by the time I purchase the adapters AND perimeter valve covers, I would be in deeper than a set of centerbolts.
I hadn't thought about eBay, good idea.
Thanks!

Are you looking at cast covers or fabricated aluminum covers? Most cast covers run around $100 or less, but fabricated aluminum covers are usually $250+ a set.

You can get the GM chrome red bow tie ones at local Super Chevy shows or
swap meets for anywhere from $80-$100. I have had them on my 87 with no leaks with Mobil 1. I did have some rust specks from my car sitting for awhile but some chrome polish and rust neutralizer cleaned them right up!
I bought the Wiseco? ones from Jeg's a few years back and they leaked oil near the back side and had to return them to Jeg's
