Ported intake manifold gains...

Will be installing LE2 heads and LE1 HL cam shortly and I am considering having Lloyd port the manifold.

Anyone measure any actual gains?

I should definitely do that. I know I lose at least 20 rwhp with my unported LT4 intake.

I dont know about 20rwhp.... I'd be willing to bet there is around 10 wheel hp in there though. Definately worth the extra money for that extra power.

Its not 20rwhp for every engine for sure. Lloyd told me for my engine atleast 20rwhp loss..

Re: Ported intake manifold gains...

I would say 10-12 on the average 400 RWHP 350. I am sure that a bigger engine, more RPM, bigger cam, etc would see more gains.

I would guess that maybe 12-15 RWHP on a 440 RWHP 383 with ALL the complimenting mods.

Any ported TFS, AFR or LT4 heads with 2.055/2.08 valves and 215-225 cc intake ports should be able to see even more if they are running a stock LT4 intake. I think it would have to be something like this set up to see 20 HP gains.

I would say around 8-10 rwhp depending on how well it's ported.

Re: Ported intake manifold gains...

I lost 9rwhp with a ported intake Gotta love how different dyno's read. I'm going to try to go back to the same dyno I got my baseline from to see what the actual gains are, I know I didn't loose 9rwhp, SOTP tells me if anything I gained 10rwhp.

There is wayyy difference between unported and well ported intake. Because I'm in different country it will be too hard to send my manifold to lloyd, for that reason I should get a new intake ported by Lloyd. (maybe I will wait the new edelbrock gap manifold and get it ported by lloyd).

You'll be waiting for years for the edelbrock piece. BTW I couldn't believe the difference between my unported, and ported by lloyd, its a HUGE difference just looking at them.
