GM's reporting no.
Scott's reporting yes.
I'm reporting confusion...?

Here's the interview...

Don't know what to say about that, guys.
I have always been in the "SS" top-car camp, but was ready to deal with a "top car Z28" if that's what was decided.
In the end, what's best for the Camaro and GM is what matters.

There's no indication of when that interview took place, but it sounds to me like it was before the second focus group.
If that's the case, then I'll take what Scott is saying today over what Cheryl said months ago.
Also: if any of you haven't been reading Jason's blog, do it.

Has to be.
Here's why:
In spring 2007, you told the guys at CamaroHompage.com that you "don't believe a Camaro is the right place for a hybrid powertrain." Do you still feel this way? Could we see the first hybrid muscle car?
CP: "You know, it's interesting how quickly things change, right? All of a sudden gas is four dollars per gallon and creeping up. I think that our team, along with the rest of GM, is looking at all different fuel solutions for Camaro and everything else out there. Things do change and we will change with the times. The V-8 we have does use active fuel management."
So it has to be later than 2007...
AND:
Has any pricing information been finalized?
CP: "Final pricing will be released toward the end of the year, 30-60 days before the start of production. We expect it to be very competitive with the Mustang. "
"...toward the end of the year, 30-60 days before the start of production..." means THIS year. 2008.
Regardless, maybe it's just delayed and no idication of how long that delay will be can be given.

This has already been answered in other threads hasn't it?
I believe Scott said that Cheryl was either misquoted or quoted out of context. What should have been said was something about No Z28 at introduction/first model year.
Scott has said that even though they won't discuss future plans, the Z28 IS NOT dead, be patient, keep the faith, etc, etc.
If that's not a HUGE I don't know what is.
Personally, even with high gas prices, GM would be FOOLISH not to come out with an ultimate Camaro capable of DESTROYING the top Challengers and Mustangs. GM already has a capable engine & trans, and I don't think it would take much beef-up the drive train (if even necessary?) and change up the exterior a bit.

Is it just me, or does LLN seem kinda anti-Camaro? It just always seems like they have something negative to say about Camaro. Anyone else feel this way too?
