Not sure how to answer this. From the pictures, I expected an awful interior. When I sat in one, it was exactly what I expected. It was so bad that the radio/dash is the reason why I won't get one.

But, before I saw any pictures, I expected a bad *** interior. So that it way, it fell short. After the pictures, it was exactly what I expected.

I knew I wouldn't like the interior from the time we saw those initial cobbled up mule pics.

What surprised me though, is how massive the car appears, when parked next to other cars or moving through traffic.

I voted for "fell short". I have to agree that the interior really hurts this car in my opinion. I don't really know where to start with it. I like modern interiors like the CTS or the new Lacrosse and the Camaro certainly does not live up to those levels. I think GM missed a good opportunity to really show-off what they can do with this interior and I am guessing they might have sold a few more cars to the general public with a more modern interior. I think it's novelty will wear off and hurt sales some in the long run.

I am not that crazy about the front of the car but I do like the rest of the vehicle and it does look good cruising down the street. The presense of the vehicle is quite strong.

Beat my expectations, especially on exterior styling. I didn't like the tail lights on the concept, but they grew on me and now they fit in with the car. I'm not crazy over the 18" wheel options, but I love the RS package. Power train's are absolutely perfect too. 6 speeds all around and they didn't half *** the V6. I'm very impressed with that.

I love the new modern GM interiors like the CTS, SRX, Equinox, but I'm kind of glad they took the risk and tried something different. Camaro interior stands out. Good mix of modern and 1st gen styling. I hated the concept interior, but liked the interior in the RS I sat in. I plan on renting one this summer. After a weekend behind the wheel my true feels should come out.

2 tone looks good.

I've sat in a couple at dealers now. A couple things stand out. One, the car truly does have a strong "presence" as mentioned by Neil above. It's mean, sinister, imposing and the roofline is absolutely stunning. Two, I was impressed by the quality of the interior. I hate to say it - but it's light years better than the interior of my 99 TA. Panel gaps are tight. Materials are better. Ergonomics are better (pop-slide feature on front seat, digital speedo, additional gauges like the tranny temp). And the use of color in the interior is better, with the ambient lighting. So overall it's good to see the car living up to the hype.

The final factor will likely be when I drive one. But from what I've read and heard, its handling will leave little to be desired. And with the V6 they have, it's the first time I've ever seriously considered getting a non-V8 Camaro. Now I'm thinking I will test drive both before I choose.

The outside is beautiful...as gorgeous as I expected. But I agree with what someone else said above...the interior is the reason I do not expect to buy one. Even though the perceived quality is vastly superior to mine and my father's fourth gens, the STYLE of those don't turn me off, whereas the style of the 5th gen dash COMPLETELY turns me off.

A shame I imagine I may very well buy one eventually, but as a 3 year old $18k used car purchase I'm not spending $30k on a dash that weird looking

As you can tell by all the faces, I'm extremely dissappointed the car doesn't blow me away like I'd hoped. I was really looking forward to an all-new, no-compromises Camaro. But this one just doesn't work for me...

I agree with most posting here; I purchased a G8 GT after seeing a new Camaro. The interior totally and completely turned me off. It just seems a mish-mash of new and old; like two different teams worked on separate interior designs and then they kinda threw them together at the last minute. I really wanted to like it and, in fact, I really think they nailed the exterior styling, and, from what I have read, the chassis and drivetrain are more than adequate. My first car was an 8-year-old 1969 Camaro (Hugger Orange/black vinyl/350 V8) and I had visions of an orange with black stripes SS in my garage.

I really had high hopes of getting one, but after seeing it in person, like those before had said, the interior is awful. And the rear end looks akward as well, too boxy for the rest of the car. And the trunk is a joke.

The Mustang is where my money is going

I hadn't seen that two-toned interior yet. I think if I "had" to buy one, it would be a requirement. At least it breaks up the sea of monochrome look. Radio, HVAC and gauge pods are far too weird for my taste. Add 3900 pounds into the mix.....

Here's looking forward to the Alpha 6th Gen!

I had to vote that it didn't meet my expectations although to be fair, that doesn't mean I don't like the car or would never buy one or that the car is in any way a "failure".

First of all, I'm simply glad the car is back and as long as the Old/New GM doesn't disgrace the name by trying to turn it into something like a glorified Miata then I hope it's around for a long, long, time.

At the same time, considering other performance cars out there for the same or similar $$$; I'd say GM has some real room for improvement to make if it hopes to attract buyers who aren't already infatuated with GM/Camaro.

If you are talking about new cars, what other performance vehicles come close to the Camaro at this price point?

I have not seen a two tone in real life yet but the three I have been in now really turned me off.

The best mill by far of the new "big 3" muscle cars but I am still on the fence on the outside and hate the interior.

I know this will be an unpopular comment but I am a retro guy, I still like the looks of the Challenger best and the inside of the Stang the best.

I am going to hold out at least another year.

I wanna see if the 'maro grows on me and if they come out with Plum Crazy for the Dodge before I decide anything.

My wife hated the Camaro btw and thought it was ugly inside and out.

But man, that chevy motor is hard to walk away from...

After checking out the interior of a local V6 car, I'm gonna say it beat my expectations.

That said, due to the pro soft touch plastic crowd, I almost unconciously check out just about every interior panel with in reach of any car I'm in to see how much soft touch plastic is around. Predictibly, the Camaro isn't in the minority when it comes to this and IIRC out of the plebian stuff I've run into (and by plebian I mean Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan - you guys get the picture) it seems like Toyota has the most.

I think alot of people on here are a little out of touch with who is buying this car. A poll was held on Camaro5 of how many people buying were first time Camaro buyers. I don't rememeber the exact number but 50-60% of the votes were in the "My first Camaro" section. It is hardly hardcore evidence but I see alot of Toyota/Honda owners over there saying this is their first American car ever.
