I was wondering if anyone knows if a console from a 1997 Trans Am fits into a 1994 Trans Am. The '97 has a passenger cup holder that swings out, two cup holders for the backseats, and a little cubby hole in front of the shifter. My 1994's console is in poor shape (has only one cup holder too), and have seen consoles on Ebay for sale. I would like to install the newer style in my car.
While we are at it, what other years interchange, such as '98-up?

In a word... yes.

fyi - I haven't done the mod yet - but did the research (my console is still in like new condition)

These instructions use a Camaro as the example car - don't worry, it's the same procedure for the Firebird/ Trans Am. And we don't have to worry about that gap between the upper and lower console.

As to your other question - to the best of my knowledge the 1997 console is same one installed in the new LS1's; at least, until last Tueday morning...
