Any companies make ZL-1 hoods?

Are there any companies out there that make/sell the ZL-1 hood? That hood definitely caught my attention when I first saw it. I've seen two versions of the ZL-1 hood. 1) The 2002 ZL-1 Camaro with the stock SS hood. 2) the other black ZL-1 camaro with 13" wide wheels in the rear Anyone got any clue?

For 93-97's the only ZL1 hoods are made by RK Sport / DGM

for LS1's there is no "true" ZL1 hoods available although some are marketed AS ZL1 hoods.

Damn one thousand dollars for a hood.

That's insane, but it looks damn good.

Shoot...if you wanted to buy an original SS hood from GM, it lists for $1699.99. Of course...that's if you have an actual SS vin# as well.

Thumbs up

You can also buy the original SS hood which includes Air Box Filter, Injection Molded Grille and 2 Hood Struts from GM Restoration Parts for $999.00.

Thanks for the replies guys. 1,200 is definitely wayy too much for that ZL-1 replica. It doesn't really even look like the ZL-1 hood anyways. Isn't the scoop portion of it supposed to be about 1" - 2" higher ? If I can get a group buy for a ZL-1 replica hood made out of fiberglass, would any of you be interested? Reason I'm asking, is because there's a fiberglass shop in Orange County, CA that specifically does hoods for muscle cars and they've done group buys for me in the past. (when I had my '99 sebring...not exactly a muscle car)

VFN just finished making thier 3in SS hood. It isnt functional as an induction hood, but is a functional cowl hood.

http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm

Check at the bottom, the pin on is $480, while the hinge bolt on is $575.

Mark

EDIT: go to catalog and pick your car....the good is for 98+ cars only.

That's the whole point.

The ZL1 hood for the 98+ body style was a custom job. None of the hoods that are marketed as the 98+ ZL1 hood even come CLOSE to the actual ZL1 hood.

The LT1 ZL1 hood = Rk Sport big block hood

You do mean the 2000 ZL1 Camaro right? If so I know which hood your talking about. It's the LT1 Big Block from RK sport only put on a 98+ style hood. If you look carefuly at that first hood posted here (the $1,000 on) it has the ripples on it that run from the head lights. But if you look at the real ZL1 as shown here:

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...0438qQSVcVyaWe

Those ripples aren't there. So it's the same as the big block from RK Sport I believe only black with the silver covering the scoop and it says 572.

I hope that makes sense lol... I hope I answered your question too.

Is VFN planning on making 93-97 3inch SS hoods or are they just sticking to LS1 cars. That looks bad. I'd like to see it on a car. Anyone have any pics or info?

Once you see more photos of the 98+ bodystyle ZL1.. you can tell that it is a totally different shape than the RK Sport or DGM big block hood. I had the RK Sport hood, that is one reason I can easily tell the difference.

I will try and find more photos of the 98+ bodystyle ZL1.. I have some rare ones..

I believe the car is a 1993 model, and redone twice by Moss.
