any maaco users?...

I had my old '92 RS painted by Maaco back in 1995. It looked alright, no major paint defects and it was warrantied for 2 years. In just over 2 years, the paint job went straight to hell.
I'll never go back

I heard 90% of problems with Maaco paint jobs is they do ****ty prep work. If you prep it before hand I think you'll have much better results. Again this is just what I heard so take it for what it's worth...

I heard the same thing about the prep work. If you pull out the side markers and stuff and maybe do a litle sanding yourself it would make a big difference.
$299 for my car to look great for two years?? Hell yea I'm in! If the decals for my 77 weren't $900 it would be there right now!
Most of us spend more than that on tires in two years....

I had it on my '85 I think I had it on for ~2 years, no problems... I saw my car at a car show to a guy I sold to, same paint, still looked good, and that was about 4 years after I sold it.
HAd lots of sparkle, deep clearcoat. I think it was a $800 job with discoutns and coupons to ~$500

Yeah, Like I said the best package is a good deal. But the rest is just a waste of time. I'm planning of having them do the $799 package on my car, but want to ask if I can take it after the machine sanding so I can work on it a bit (properly sand around the lettering , the bird on the fender, etc). They just run a sander over the car, small detail like the lettering, the bird and even under the wing is easily missed. The actual paint though is great. DO NOT GET TRICKED INTO BUYING THE STUFF WITH THE BUILT IN CLEAR-COAT, it is garbage have a base coat then a separate clear coat. It makes a BIG diffenence in the depth, and gloss of the shine on your car.

Glad to hear about the built in clear coat, my Can Am is going to get one of these in the next year or so.
Oh, my 315's on the back of the hawk were almost 300 each! Thank god they've finally come down a little in price!

Have you ever haad the package with the built in clear-coat? What was your results. My friends 93 camaro had it done, and after about 3 years it started to noticibly loose its color and depth. I believe it was because he waxed his car too often (once every 2 months). I am going with the $799 package (plus $200 to paint the door panels). 1 G anywhere else cant get you much at all.
