I have a Mystic car, and two friends that have Mystic LS1 Z28's and have seen a few other mystic Camaros. For some reason the Camaros seem to have a different color than mine. Even the other guys said mine seems to change more. I keep it washed about 2-3 times a week and wax regurarly but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Mine seems to have less of the "teal" and more of the darker colors. And yes, this color is sharp during the day, but sexxxyyy at night.

ok you ready

I sued the dealer because they didn’t believe me on this

96+ is chameleon teal green
95s are mystic teal metallic which is a light shade with more blue in it...VERY RARE almost as rare as the heather color in 94s

lets just say the dealer painted half my car chameleon I have a 95, and you CAN TELL a difference

hmmm....my 94 camaro is that color...been confusing the hell out of my mechanic buddy.

it is a nasty color...especially when it gets wet or its getting dark...like others though my front bumber is getting pretty worn and my clearcoat is dissapearing quickly so the shine isnt what it used to be.. i have only seen one other camaro this color in that i can remember

Color code for Mystic Teal Pearl Metallic is U119 or U119B. I only know this because the wife saw this color and thought she wanted her Bright Teal Metallic Z28 Vert that color. It is definitely a cool color.

I dont have the numbers handy for other years, but for 1995 there were 4565 Mystic Teal Camaros made. For 95 Mystic Teal is the rarest color with Quasar Blue next with 6384

I do happen to have numbers handy and they contradict many of the posts in this thread. According to the codes listed in the Camaro White Book and the Firebird Red Book, Mystic Teal and Blue Green Chameleon have the same paint code- 79. CamaroZ28.com's production information refers to the color as 79U. According to this site between 1998 and 2001, 6,440 Camaros were built in that color. The Pontiac numbers for the same color are likely lower, but still figure several thousand more on that side. 4,565 Camaros had that color in 1995, making it the rarest color in Camaros for that year and only 637 had it in 1996, making it the rarest color in that year. Is the color common? No. Unusual? Yes. Rare? Depends on your definition. It's certainly not even in the ballpark compared to fourth gen colors like Bright Blue, Hugger Orange, Bright Green, Sport Gold, Bright Purple, Cayenne Red or Sunfire Yellow.

The Formula Source appears to be down right now, so I don't have access to their production breakdowns on Pontiacs, but that has been an excellent resource in the past and while it seems accurate, I'm not entirely sure where he got his information.

Neither book lists "chameleon teal green" as a color in 1996 and neither book lists "heather" as a color in 1994.

Rare doesn't necessarily equate to more valuable either. A V6 F-body in a "rare" color may never be worth as much as V8 F-body with a common color. Sometimes cars have rare options for a reason- no one particularly cared for those options, so hardly anyone bought them.

The reason the same paint color may vary in appearance from car to car can be attributed to several factors, possibly the most important being the lighting. There is a thread in this section that deals with that very subject. If a car has been damaged and repainted, that can also effect the appearance. Metallic colors are very difficult to repaint with an accurate balance.

Just because you've never seen another car like yours, doesn't mean yours is rare, you just may not get out often enough. If anyone is looking for a low mileage 97Z in this color, check out this site- http://www.cardomain.com/id/rons97z

That car has been for sale for several years now and the owner would probably be willing to take significantly less than the asking price listed. If the color did make the car more valuable, it would have been sold long ago.

I just had to chime in b/c I have the " mystic bl / gr " color on my 97 TA and I love it when it is clean and waxed !

Belive it or not I did not realize that the car changed colors for about the 1st week I owned it .

I dont think it is very rare but it is nice and different .
