glasstech hood install problem

while the hood lines up pretty nice on each side but there are a couple of problems:

1. Before I installed the hood latch & release lever the hood is slightly too far back on the passenger side (3/16") yet both sides are evenly spaced.

2. When I installed the latch & release lever the hood on the passenger side doesn't go all the way down flush even with the fender. I've removed the 2 rubber, round "stops" and it improved somewhat. also, when I do close the hood all the way down the hook doesn't want to release.

Sound familiar?

thanks,

jerry

Hey Jerry, from what I've seen, it is always in install issue. Glasstech is a good company and sells tons of hoods so I'd have to think their mold is correct.

I've seen some hoods that look like they were made for a different car after the car owner installed the hood and spent hours trying to align it. Looked terrible. After finally giving up and thinking he got a poorly made hood, he took it to a body shop and they aligned the same hood and it looked better than factory

I know aligning a hood is difficult if several adjustments are needed. Before giving up entirely on the hood, you might want to consider taking it to a GOOD body shop and see if they can assist you.

Good luck!
