headlamps?

Re: headlamps?
Just a word of wisdom...
Before buying the Eurolights crap everyone...
Search "AutoOptiks"
They are WAY crappier than the stock housings. WAY CRAPPIER.
#1. The stock housings fit in the metal trim rings - every time.
These fit in the metal trim rings about 3 out of 10 times.
#2. The stock housings lenses don't crack under the pressure of...themselves.
These do.
I am not going to make a list on this stuff.
Those things are trash. The bulb doesn't even seat in the back of it it...it uses a "paper clip" basically. They have been around for about 7 years now I suppose - and have sucked all the way through...
Search it.
If you want other headlights...look at any of the 15 threads active in the past 3 weeks about them...or, if you are click disabled...
•Hella FF75 Driving Lights for Headlights
•Hella FF75 Fog Lights for Fog Lights
•Hella 90mm Projectors for Headlights
•Silicone other bulbs in stock housings
•15 bazillion other fog lights that fit in the holes that you must manually hook up to your stock wiring harness.
•Do something [gasp] else that fits...[gasp]
Not in a bad mood...Just thought I'd type this out and point every lighting post to it.

Re: headlamps?
When the car is driven daily, about every 4 to 6 months one or the other, but its **usually** the passenger side. I don't understand why, all the wiring looks good and everything. I pulled the motor in September so the car hasn't had a chance to burn one out in a while, but I had to replace the pass side at the end of august if that tells you anything...

Everyone has been using clear silicone for 10+ years now...it hasn't failed.

To answer your question, you can reuse the housing again.
I use the red gasket stuff...it holds well enough and when the bulbs burn our, I just use a razor to remove the old stuff and then re-seal in the new bulb.
I may try these Eurolight housings just to see if they provide any difference in beam pattern.
