Help Please: Hi-Power Halogen Fog Light Install
Last night i bought some "Rally Hi-Power fog lights" at my local pepboys, and have a few questions about the instalation.
I have stock foglights, and this set seems to be for cars without any foglights. The actually light unit is a halogen light fixture with a red and a black wire about 12 inches long each. The connection running to the stock setup has one black, and one purple wire.
Question 1: Will it work if i just splice the wires (red to purple)(black to black)? Will the factory switch be able to control the new lights?
Question 2: Will the factory connections be able to run the halogen fogs? I think the bulbs are 12V...
Please help soon. i need to either get these in or put the old ones back.

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago, I got some pilot driving light from AutoZone and replaced the factory fog lights I wasn't happy with the light they put out.
Yes its very easy to do, I didn't cut the factory wires, I secured the new lights wires in the factory socket purple is + (postive)and black is - (ground)
The factory wiring and switch will work fine and the your new lights will put out much more light than the factory units.
I am very happy with my setup and its been trouble free.

Thank you for the reply.
I got tired of waiting for someone to reply and just went ahead and did it. I just cut the factory wires and spliced the new ones in. I just got back from driving around and really like the light they give out. it was a definate improvment from the factory lights and really makes me want to do the headlight conversion...
Thanks for the reply though...
