Re: interior make-over FIBERGLASS FABRICATION HELP
I made a custom 10.5" radio bezel for the touchscreen that I am going to be putting into my Camaro once I finish wiring it. Anyway, though, it was made out of fiberglass, and really wasn't too hard at all. For mine, I took a stock radio bezel, cut away the middle bottom part of it, so it was just the sides and top of the bezel. Then I took balsa wood and framed out exactly what I wanted, using metal pins to hold the balsa wood together. I made it really sturdy. Once I had the frame of what I wanted, I wrapped the entire piece in a 100% cotton old tshirt, then mixed my resin, and soaked the resin into the tshirt. This made the tshirt hard, and it also made the shirt shrink a bit which is why I made the frame really sturdy. Once the resin was dry, then it was just a matter of doing the layers of fiberglass, filler, primer, and paint. That's the real basic and generalized version of how I did it, if it's kinda what you're going to be doing and you want more info, I can help ya a little bit with exactly what I did in more detail, but I'm no pro at it.

I actually have a site that kinda shows, in pictures, how I did it. Fiberglassing really isn't that hard once you have the shape you want... building up the layers is the semi-easy part. The worst part is getting it smooth. Anyway, my site's here: http://carpc.meissenation.com/

You could also try this: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...racticekit.php
They also have Kevlar, carbon fiber, etc.
