How are u able to tell if ur new headunit is able to plug directly into an ipod? i just recently got a new sony headunit and am wondering that.. if i do the 97+ console conversion, ill have a gap and a ipod holder would be a great thing to put there

I will be purchasing this for my headunit which I bought a few years ago. It plugs in to the Disc changer port. So, I won't need any type of mounting system etc. for my ipod. So I guess I'll just stick it in the console or glove box.

Do you have the CD changer in the back of your car? If so, you could probably do this: http://ipod.hackaday.com/entry/1234000220046664/
I prefer my method in the Corolla though, I just bought an ipod to cassette converter and made a holder out of naugahide and used poster attaching material to mount it in the car. Doesn't look professional, but gets the job done for $20.
