Camaro gauges have a blue plastic behind the numbers so they would light up more white with regular bulbs so when I put in hyper white instead of being more white they became more of a blue.

In your formula or T/A it has red plastic behind the numbers so it lights up red so your stuck with red sorry unless you wanna either get blue bulbs and make it purple or find out how to switch over to a camaro gauge cluster to get blue or you could get some reverse indiglo's

Go buy some 3M clear double sided tape . The backing on that is a translucent bright red , very thin and peels right off .

Then

Peel off the Hvac overlay and the headlight overlay so you can see the backside , take the red film from the double sided tape and cover areas that light up white . After you peel off the overlays there enuff adhesive on them , the red film will stick where you want it and still have enuff left to re-install them . The backing is sticky as hell . It will then light up bright red and not look dim .

On the guage faces for PONTIAC , the red is actually impregnated into the plastic face , PLUS it is silkscreened on back with a layer of red and thin layer of white

Camaro faces just have the light blue silkscreen with a thin layer of white over that .

so the only way to do it is to buy a new overlay which replaces the factory.. I know i've seen this somwhere, and it actually lights blue. Or can it be removed with some skill

Or use a 97 LT1 camaro cluster and get blue xenon bulbs , it may be cheaper than the alternative . It directly interchanges with the firebird cluster . A 97 cluster is the only Camaro cluster that will work in a 94-97 firebird because the LS1 clusters are calibrated differently and will not work right . The digital odo even works correctly in a 94-96 car , Ive had a 97 cluster in my 95 for a couple years now .

ive never bought any double sided tape before therefore this may seem like a dumb question to some of you but, is there a certain brand of this that i should buy?

It's a joke.

I'm looking at pure black pictures with faint specks of red light. Kinda like deep sea fish might see just before being eaten...
