I own a 2002 camaro base model and i was looking to install lambo doors on it. does anyone know if they work very well, and can i just buy a universal door kit, or do i have to use a kit made for an 02 camaro.

3 words.....No......Stop........Don't. Even Lambos don't use Lambo doors anymore. Plus....I have never seen a Lambo door conversion where the weatherstrips sealed properly afterwards.

 

Search the Appearance Section..... IF you do choose to do this, have it professionally done.. There are alot of cheap kits out there.....

 

For the love of God, please don't do it!

 

The universal kits don't work on Camaros.

 

In my 5 years of coming to this site I have never seen a 4th gen with lambo doors. That leads me to believe that doing this conversion isn't very simple.

 

You must not have been looking too hard. I've seen a few. The problem with doing "Lambo" doors on a Camaro is the way the mirrors and the fender bulges in front of them are arranged.



You can see in that picture that every bit of the mirror bubble on the fender that extends past the door had to be removed for the doors to swing up without interference. It doesn't look ugly in that picture since the doors are up, but when they're down, it looks awful. There's a huge gap between the fender and the mirrors, and it looks terribly unfinished.

 

Look at the Voodoo kit by Autoloc; VERY pricey, but you might be able to keep the mirror bubble.

 

 

You have a nice car in an 02 Camaro, please dont ruin it by making it look like.....dare I say it.....RICE. Muscle is muscle man, nothin flashy just fast cars with nothin extravagant. It's your car and you should do what you want, but I wouldnt do it.

 

I agree please dont i mean its your car but it makes me sad to just think about it. All you will do is attract people that dont know anything about cars. Flashy cars just get made fun of
