LG Motorsports ZR28

This really made my week. I contacted someone selling a ZR28 on craigslist http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/cto/1794973639.html (okay, let's be honest, I kind of hounded him ) and he sent me some better pics. The car is gorgeous and still for sale.

1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with ZR28 pkg by LG Motorsports and Suncoast SS hood, One Owner, nonsmoker, Super Sharp and Very Clean, Runs and Drives Great, 117k miles, LT1 350, automatic (transmission recently rebuilt), Fully Loaded, T-tops, leather interior, 17" Enkei WIN wheels, Hypertech programmer, Borla exhaust, K&N cold air filter, . The only negatives are a few chips in paint, and cracked dash pad. This car is a real head turner. Serious Buyers Only, No Joy riders, Scammers, or tire kickers. $6500 cash or Best Offer, Call xxx-xxx-xxxx

If you see this ad, it is still for sale.
Anyway, I'm trying to convince him that he should take some more pictures so that I'll have enough to use his car as the feature/showcase car for the future LG Motorsports ZR28s on my website. His car is just such a great color combo and a great representation of a rare aftermarket Camaro. How rare? No idea.

Really, without more photos of his car, there won't BE much of a page, so I hope he'll help. My collection of pics of these cars is pretty pathetic. What few I have are really low res and pixelated. Typical early-days-of-the-internet and early-days-of-digital-cameras type of pics.

Does anyone have any information about these cars to share? I believe there was a stage 1 package rated at about 350 hp and a stage 2 package rated at about 425 hp, but that's about all I remember. I'm not sure what stage this one above is. For all I know it may only have the appearance items. I haven't asked the owner. Anybody have the original brochure(s) or price lists or anything like that they can take a picture of or scan? Anybody know anybody else who owns one? Pics?

I remember seeing the ZR28s in mags back in 96, amazing how time flies. I sure wish I had 6K to spend on another car, I'd be on my way to Texas tomorrow!

Didn't I scan and send you the LG Motorsports literature?

Never heard of them. Pretty cool, but to be honest I hate the wheels and spoiler.

$6500 sounds like a pretty good deal -- better if the mileage wasn't so high. Somebody here should pick it up!

That was LG? I thought you sent me stuff about Doug Rippie Motorsports? I might be remembering wrong!

Those wheels were really popular back in the day. Not my favorites, but they are definitely correct for a ZR28! I personally like the spoiler.

I don't know about future value, but I gotta say... this has got to be one of the coolest looking LT1 Camaros I've ever saved pictures of. For the relatively high mileage, it sure looks great.

I sent you both... I still have 15 pages of LG Motorsports .pdf files on my PC dated 9/10/09, and 3 pages of DRM .pdf files dated 10/5/09.

The ZR28 literature was sent on 9/10/09, and you replied to the e-mail, so I know you got it. It pretty much shows it as a collection of appearance parts. LG sold various performance components as well, but there is no indication that he sold "stage" type packages.

Man I remember when those Enkei wheels were the bomb back in the day and god I wanted them. Couldn't afford them as they wanted over $2K from what I remember. Ended up getting some cheaper centerlines and thank god I finally got rid of those a couple of years ago to make way for my TTM's. Nice car and great find.

Do you remember OZ Monte Carlo wheels? They were super popular on Camaros and Firebirds in the mid-90s, especially on tuner cars. I still want a set of those even though I really don't have ANY use for them!

They're really hard to find with a center cap that isn't carbon fiber. I like these chrome ones:

Not fond of the carbon fiber center cap.

Anybody happen to know what company (if any) made this tuner Camaro? I've never figured out if it was just a homemade modified Camaro. I believe this image was in a calendar and I believe it's the only image I have.

I had the OZ Monte Carlo's in silver paint, with silver center caps......

This was when it was briefly lowered:

.... and at normal ride height, with huge wheel gaps:
