A lot of them are sealed on the windshield side, so they do no good at all.

Some might be open, but I don't know which.

Mine is open, and I can always see plenty of heat coming out of it when I'm sitting at lights. I also know that it pulls outside air down into the engine bay when I'm driving.

You should have mentioned that earlier.

Now we've actually discovered a function for them!

A lot of the ones I've seen, particularly the larger ones, are sealed on the back side. I'm thinking at least the larger SS inspired hoods are like this as well as the Stinger type of hoods... But I've seen a few purely cowl style hoods like that as well.

Hey, since you have one, can you tell us if it is sealed closed on the back or if it has a huge open gap for heat to escape?

Yea, yours is sick, my ideal hood. Like the classic look. Hope to get one someday for the LT1, but it is a definite for the '70.

Yup all that is needed to give an FI car that mean look and still keep visibility

PS most are also fiberglass and save about 60 lbs in weight as well so between extracting heat & weight, they also give you a slight performance gain

Im more of a painted cf hood guy myself, unless you need a cowl. cf is super lite, and if its painted it looks fine as far as cowl hoods, eh whatever, sorta like TA hoods on camaros. Looks dumb.

I like.

That size cowl hood isn't too large.

Is that even a 2 inch cowl? It looks incredibly short for a cowl hood but maybe it's just the angle.
