Okay... I must admit... that is ever so slightly... absolutely gorgeous.

Is that the RS spoiler add-on?

i guess ill throw my 2 cents in. in high school i had an 85 z28 which i thought was the coolest car ever but i thought it needed a cowl hood. i bought a 5 inch cowl and crudely installed it with bondo and pop rivets. i thought it looked awsome. although making a right hand turn in a parking lot was very difficult. looking back it was absolutely ridiculous. especally because i still had a bone stock 305.

the only cowl hood i like is the vfn lift off cowl it flows better with the lines of the car and goes almost to the windshield. i think the problem with most cowl hoods is that where they stop at the back edje of the hood looks akward and they are to square.

Thank you! I've had a love-hate relationship with this car since the day I drove it off the lot, and it's taken a lot of effort to get it to this point. I've done all the work myself, except for the paint (I know my limitations) and the welded in SFC's. I did have to go to the paint shop and tape off the hood for those stripes, they just couldn't get the look right.

The spoiler is from RK Sport. It's just a little bit taller than the RS spoiler. RK also has a 6" tall version of it, but I thought that would be a bit too much.

Thanks again!

Very nice. You've certainly disproven my theory that that hood always looks bad on Camaros. You've managed to pull it off beautifully.

Yes...

But you're the only one. Nobody else should get ideas that they can pull it off though.

There's a red one I used to see at college all the time with that hood, but the vents weren't vents on the Ram Air, they were just... well... red painted solid fiberglass like the rest of the hood. Long story short, the Camaro was one of the ugliest I've ever seen.

You really have to do a lot of things to make that hood look good on Camaros.

A few years ago when I ran nitrous, I had all the nitrous stuff mounted on my strut tower brace and the Harwood Cowl hood cleared everything nice. Other than that, I just like the way mine looks. I still have the stock hood hanging from the ceiling in my garage if I ever want to put it back on. Anyway, here are the pics.

100% agreed. That car is beautiful. Are there any more pix somewhere? I'd love a closer look.

Here's a '98-'02 with one of the hoods I mentioned earlier. It's a hood made for the '98-'02 but it has the '96-'97 SS scoop on it. Looks just fine to me.

alright guys,
sorry to bring up and jack an old thread, but ive used the search button around on this site and others..but and i cant decide which brand/style hood i should go with. My car is a 2000 T/A, its black with a stock flat hood.Ive decided since im happy with my motor for now i finally want to get a diff. hood.
I like the WS6 style but there are so many brands to choose from. Ive seen the Raptor suncoast creatons hood...etc.... I am wondering what company is good to deal with. quality is also an issue for me i dont mind paying a little more for a good hood.
I have also seen Carbon Fiber WS6 style hoods (VIS and some other one)and wondered if anyone has gotten one and if they are decent quality and if they fit good. Also would love to see one on a black car if anyone has a pic????
they talked about it a little hear but no pics and they are old threads.http://www.ls1lt1.com/forum/showthread.php?p=150319
http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121224

I think the Firehawk hood is my favorite for '98-'02 Firebirds.
