Need bodywork advise

I dented my mint 1996 white z28 and the body shop told me that they won't be able to match the color 100%. Another thing is the molding is scratched and he doesn't wanna paint it because he said it will chip down the line. The moldings are not sold by the dealer prepainted anymore. The dent isn't that big it's behind the passenger door at the start of the quarterpanel. I'm going to try to post a picture of it later.

Well the point of that post was to find out if anyone knows if the molding can in fact be painted without having it chip.. My goal is to make my car look brand new like it never got hit.

Buy a new molding Im sure its not to much, have the panel repaired and then blended, it may cost more to blend it but thats the RIGHT way.
